The Next Doctor

Lets get this post started by saying that I did not wright this post in the efforts of offending anyone. So please do take this personally.

Hello, I know I am late with getting this post out, I was busier then I thought I would be. So at long last her it is. I have decided to scratch the idea of doing a series/season 7 review and decided to put my input into the pool of never ending talk about who will be taking Matt Smith’s place after he leaves in the Christmas special. Now I don’t have anyone in-particular in mind that I personally want to be the Doctor, but I do know what I want and what I don’t want in the next Doctor. I have a very specific view on what the Doctor should and should not be or do. And here are five reasons that would make up the perfect Doctor, in my mind:

Number 1

He has to be a white male.

Now I am not against the Doctor being a women but in my mind I see him as a white male. I believe the Doctor has to stay a male because there needs to be a male role model that is not violent. I just cannot see the Doctor being any other way. I am not against the Doctor being black or Asian, etc, but I just can’t picture it.

Number 2

He should never pick up a gun

I know the Doctor has picked up a gun a couple of times throughout the show (desperate times call for desperate measures) but 9/10 of the time he would decline picking one up. I think this is a great example for men since most lead male actors wouldn’t give a second thought on picking up a gun. I know this doesn’t have much about who the next Doctor will be but the actor that plays the Doctor next can bring there own thoughts, ideas, and personalities into the character and if they have a violent background this will show through.

Number 3

He has to be middle aged

I wouldn’t mind someone who is middle aged or older. I am not saying that a young actor would not do great job because Matt Smith was an excellent Doctor and he brought his skills and energy to the table, But I think I would enjoy it more with an older actor.

Number 4

He has to be unknown

I think the actor that takes Matt Smith’s place has to be someone that no one has heard about. They could bring so much to the table and they would be a total surprise in what there Doctor would be like. If it were someone popular they could ruin the part. Now you might be thinking, well, wasn’t Christopher Eccleston pretty popular. Well, they needed someone who was well known to get the show started.

Number 5

He has to be British.

I think he has to be British. I mean it is a British show, so , why not have a British actor. I wouldn’t mind an American actor as long as they can put on a good accent, so in conclusion, THEY HAVE TO BE BRITISH.

Now my Geek Sister loves playing Doctor Who with me all the time. I would usually play the Doctor and she would play my companion, but sometimes she would play the villain. Obviously I am not a man and neither am I white but she could not give a whoot on who or even what plays the Doctor. For all she cares it could be a three eyed monster who plays the Doctor.  Now I now that she is only four but maybe we could take a few pointers from her. 😉 But lets face it, I would still watch it even if they choose someone that didn’t fit my requirements.
